Joel is another quarterback from the class of 2020 that is very impressive. He is a proven winner, helping the Jacob Hespeler Hawks cap off the 2018 season with an OFSAA Central bowl title. Joel has been training with FINCH Performance for two years and has developed arm strength that will fit nicely into the University game. The one thing however that separates Joel is his innate ability to shift throwing lanes and throw from outside of the pocket. He can definitely spin the ball and throws with deadly accuracy on the run. Another big takeaway is that he is very coachable and demonstrates strong leadership skills throughout any of the camps he attends.
Yesterday, we asked Joel three questions:
What makes you stand out as a Quarterback?
“I believe what makes me stand out as a quarterback is the ability to keep the play alive and make throws downfield. I stay calm and collected in the pocket while progressing through all of my reads before tucking it down and running.”
What are your top 3 schools?
“My top 3 schools right now are Carleton, U of T, and Western.”
Why do you want to play at the next level?
“I want to play at the next level because it would be an amazing opportunity to get my degree while also playing football at a high level.”
We have seen a massive improvement in Joel and believe that if he continues to progress in regards to arm strength and velocity - he will be a gunslinger at the next level.
